Joi Ito writes a rather stirring post about the power of our words. Our words set an environment for ourselves and for others around us. Here's part of a quote from a book he's reading: I am committed to cultivating loving speech and deep listening in order to bring joy and happiness to others and relieve others of their suffering. Knowing that words can create happiness or suffering, I am determined to speak truthfully, with words that inspire self-confidence, joy, and hope. Hmm... that's a pretty good and high standard.I can't say that about myself. I'd like to. What about you? |
